Q. What is Handyman Service?
A. Handyman Service is a multi-trade service business. We enable professional service technicians to complete the small job tasks needed around residential and commercial properties.  In other words, we repair, maintain and improve your residence or your commercial property.

Q. What does it cost for your service?
A.  It depends upon the service you choose:
Handyman Service's competitive hourly rates are as follows: $139.95* for the initial service call and includes 1 hour of labor/service, also referred to as our “Standard Service Call.” If additional time is required, our rates are $69.99* for additional normal working hours and $89.99* for hours worked outside of the normal working hours. Normal working hours are from 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. Billable time begins when a Handyman Service technician arrives at your home, office or jobsite.
*We also offer UPFRONT PRICING, which means you can request a written estimate of the costs to perform any job needed. Email estimates are FREE, in-home estimates are $35.00 in Tracy, and higher in other cities.

Q. How do I schedule an appointment with Handyman Service?
A. Simply click the Book YOUR Appointment Today button at the top of every page, click on the button, fill out the information needed and we will schedule your service appointment. The process is quick and easy. You should not need to spend more than a few minutes setting up the appointment based on your schedule! Please give us as much information as possible on the service you need so we can be a great resource when we call you and confirm the scheduled appointment time.

Q. What if I need an estimate for my project?
A. Handyman Service provides FREE on-line estimate responses for your use. Feel free to submit your project using the Request FREE Estimate button in the right hand column of every page. When submitting information to us, please give as much information as possible on the service you need so we can be a great resource for you. If you require an on-site estimate, there is a $35.00 charge in Tracy, and higher in other cities.

Q. How do I pay for Handyman Service?
A. You can click on the PAYPAL button and enter your credit card information for secure processing through the PAYPAL web site, you can call in with your credit card information and we will process it for you or you can provide cash or check to your Handyman Service technician when the project is finished.

Q. How do you charge for service?
A. Handyman Service services are charged on an hourly basis, after the initial Standard Service Call. Your Handyman Service technician may also be able to provide a flat rate estimate for some repairs or maintenance items on-site. You can also click on the FREE Estimate button on the website and get an idea of what a particular project, under normal circumstances, would cost.

Q. Can I get an Estimate?
A. The smaller jobs that Handyman Service specializes in do not lend themselves to estimates. Our average repair order is under $300.00. If you have a to-do list of small repairs, we recommend you go ahead and schedule an initial 2-hour Standard Service Call. During this initial visit, your Handyman Service technician can often take care of at least a couple of items on your to-do list and give you an estimate of the time necessary to complete it.  Your Handyman Service technician will be able to help you more fully understand the general costs and estimated hours for these sorts of projects.
For job specific options, such as replacing a bathroom vanity cabinet or installing a new microwave over an oven, you may also choose to submit your project using the FREE Estimate button on our website. Email estimate responses are always FREE. If you require an on-site estimate, there is a $35.00 charge in Tracy, and higher in other cities.

Q. What if my handyman works for part of an hour? Are charges rounded up?
A. Yes. Time charged is rounded up to the next half hour increment. Example: If your Handyman Service technician arrives and begins work at 9:30am and works until 11:20pm, billable time will be rounded up to 11:30pm and you will be billed for 2 hours.

Q. Special materials or items are needed of my project. How is this handled?
A. You have several options for acquiring the materials for your project. (1) You purchase and have the material on-site, (2) You may purchase and we will deliver the items, or (3) Handyman Service can purchase them and bring the items with us. If you should choose to have Handyman Service provide the materials, charges will be invoiced based on the Standard Labor Rates in addition to the cost of materials as stated below:

Mark-up on materials provided by Handyman Service:

$0 - $30 = $25 + price on receipt. Example $15.87 receipt + 25.00= $40.87
$30 - $60 = $30 + price on receipt. Example $45.87 receipt + 30.00= $75.87
$60 - $100 = $50 + price on receipt. Example $85.87 receipt + 50.00= $135.87
$100 - $200 = $80 + price on receipt. Example $185.87 receipt + 80.00= $265.87
$200 - up = 40% + price on receipt. Example $205.87 receipt x 40% = $287.82

We charge a mark on materials we provide, along with charging for the time it takes to travel to the store, shop for the materials, and travel back to the job. The mark up covers our cost for the materials warranty we offer. There is no warranty on the materials that we do not provide.

Q. When I schedule an appointment with Handyman Service, who will come to my residence?
A. A Handyman Service technician will arrive at your home or office, in a company uniform, carrying his own tools in a clearly marked Handyman Service vehicle. Handyman Service technicians are employee’s of Handyman Service, we do not use subcontractors. They are personally interested in your customer experience! Handyman Service technicians arrive on time, every time, ready to work and provide you with 100% customer satisfaction.

Q. Do you guarantee materials & labor?
A. Yes. Handyman Service guarantees the quality and workmanship of all parts purchased by Handyman Service for one hundred eighty (180) days from the invoice date. Handyman Service also guarantees labor, on materials we supplied, for 1 year from the invoice date. Guarantee is for identical parts and/or repairs performed.

We do not guarantee materials or labor on customer supplied materials. Warranty is only for Handyman Service to repair or replace, and supply replacement materials. We do not authorize others to perform repairs under our warranty.

Q. Is there a minimum service charge or minimum time commitment?
A. For residential service, when a Handyman Service technician is dispatched to your home, you are financially obligated for $139.95*, for the initial Standard Service Call, and includes 1 hour of labor/service.

Q. Can you give me an example of the cost of a job similar to mine?
A. Please take a look at the Estimate Results page, please keep in mind that your job can be lower or higher than these jobs were. These are not intended to be used for actual budgets, please provide us with the information that is specific to your job only and we will provide you with your own FREE Estimate.

* We strive to provide 100% Customer Satisfaction and referrals from satisfied customers. Our initial Standard Service Call is unique because we charge a flat rate of $139.95 for the service call to the residence and 1 hour of labor. Most companies charge $59.95 for a service call and then $80.00-$90.00 per hour above that, every hour. Handyman Service has worked hard to develop a fair and balanced pricing structure, for our customers and our company.

* We also offer UPFRONT PRICING, this means that you are able to call or email us with specific repair questions, and we will prepare an estimate for you. Why does this matter? You will know “UPFRONT” how much a specific repair will cost you, no matter how much time it takes. If we give you a price, we will not exceed that price unless there are unforeseen circumstances; such as, dry rot damage, termite damage, code violations, unsafe conditions. If we find any of these types of issues, we will immediately contact you and discuss all of the options available to you. Estimates provided to you via email are FREE from Handyman Service. If we have to come to your house to see exactly what you want done, we charge a flat fee of $35.00 for this service in Tracy. If we have to travel to other cities, the estimate charge is higher, please call the office for the specific fee.
